I found the most beautiful fabric today!

I've had a dress design in mind for a few months now and I've searched everywhere for a jacquard fabric in pastel and gold colors with no luck.
I found the most beautiful fabric today and just couldn't pass it up.  I actually went into Joann Fabrics to buy some muslin.  I keep my visits to Joanns limited to basics like muslin and stabilizer since I don't find their fabric selection to be very good for apparel fabric and the quality of their jersey fabrics is usually poor.  On my way to the muslins I had to walk through the Jacquard fabrics and this just popped out!  It's exactly what I've been looking for.  I bought all of it which was really only six yards but it's just what I need.

  1. Oh, my goodness that's gorgeous!!! I have to run to Joann's now and see if they have it here in San Diego! From your photo, it almost looks like melted copper on fabric--such a wonderful effect! I can't wait to see how your project turns out! How lovely!!!

  2. It's not as copper-y in real life...my pic is a little yellow because I took it inside. I really love it though...it's got a lot of pink and baby blue - reminds me of Marie Antoinette
